Section 4 (Cruise Control System): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Acura SLX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

The cruise control system maintains a desired vehicle speed under normal driving conditions. Common components of cruise control systems include a control module, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), combination switch and an actuator to maintain vehicle speed. Release or cancelling switches are used to disengage cruise control operation. These release switches are incorporated into brakelight switch and clutch switch circuits.
