Section 16 (Automatic A/C-Heater Systems): Description

Automatic A/C-heater climate control system automatically controls vehicle cabin climate to maintain temperature setting of A/C-heater control panel. During automatic operation, AUTO switch LED indicator will remain illuminated. See Fig 1 . Auto control unit is integral with A/C-heater control panel, and monitors numerous sensors to maintain cabin temperature, compressor operation, intake air source, outlet air vent modes and blower motor speed settings. Automatic A/C-heater climate control system offers a self-diagnostic function. Automatic control unit monitors various sensors or sensor circuits and can identify current faults and may store history faults to aide in diagnostics. Automatic A/C-heater system may also be operated in manual mode. When AUTO switch LED is not illuminated and blower switch is in any position except AUTO or OFF, system will be in manual mode.
