Ignition Switch: Removal

Disconnect battery ground. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL & HORN PAD  . Remove instrument illumination rheostat control knob. Remove lower and then upper cover. Using a suitable punch, remove shear bolts securing ignition switch. Release switch assembly. Release ignition switch retaining tabs and move switch from lock assembly. Disconnect cable harness block connector and remove switch.
