Pinpoint Test AC: U2602: BREAK IN OPTICAL HARNESS FROM ICE HEAD UNIT. (TRANSMITTER)

  1. CHECK FIBRE OPTIC LEAD BETWEEN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT JOINT AND CD CHANGER 

    Disconnect fibre optic connector, RA02.

    Disconnect fibre optic connector, RA01.

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to the fibre optic lead connector, RA01.

    Set the Optical Bus Tester to TX.

    Set the Optical Bus Tester to ON.

    Check for light pulses at the receiver pin of disconnected D2B connector, RA02.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Go to step  2.

    NO:  INSTALL a new telematic harness between RA03 and RA02. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

  2. CHECK CABIN FIBRE OPTIC HARNESS 

    Disconnect the fibre optic connector, FC107.

    Disconnect the fibre optic connector, RA01.

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to FC107 using adaptor lead.

    Set the Optical Bus Tester to TX.

    Set the Optical Bus Tester to ON.

    Check for light pulses at the receiver pin of disconnected D2B connector, RA01.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Go to step  3.

    NO:  INSTALL a new cabin optical harness between RA01 and FC107. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. CHECK FIBRE OPTIC LEAD BETWEEN ASHTRAY AND ICE HEAD UNIT 

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to FC108 using the adaptor lead.

    Set the Optical Bus Tester to TX.

    Set the Optical Bus Tester to ON.

    Check for light pulses at the receiver pin of disconnected D2B connector, FC107.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Go to step  4.

    NO:  INSTALL a new instrument optical harness between FC107 and FC108. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. Go to step  4.

  4. CHECK THE ICE HEAD UNIT 

    Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.

    Wait for 10 seconds.

    Check for light pulses at the transmitter pin of disconnected D2B connector, FC108. (Rear of ICE head unit).

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Recheck DTCs. No fault found in D2B system.

    NO:  INSTALL a new ICE head unit, refer to Audio Unit . CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

  5. CHECK THE FIBRE OPTIC LEAD FROM THE CD CHANGER TO THE 'PHONE MODULE 

    Disconnect optical connector RA02.

    Disconnect optical connector RA03.

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to RA02.

    Check for light pulses at the transmitter pin of disconnected D2B connector, RA03.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Go to step  6.

    NO:  INSTALL a new telematic harness between RA03 and RA02. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

  6. CHECK THE FIBRE OPTIC LEAD FROM THE 'PHONE MODULE TO THE VOICE MODULE 

    Disconnect optical connector RA04.

    Disconnect optical connector RA03.

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to RA03.

    Check for light pulses at the transmitter pin of disconnected D2B connector, RA04.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Go to step  7.

    NO:  INSTALL a new telematic harness between RA03 and RA04. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

  7. CHECK THE FIBRE OPTIC LEAD FROM THE VOICE MODULE TO THE NAVIGATION COMPUTER 

    Disconnect optical connector RA04.

    Disconnect optical connector RA05.

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to RA04.

    Check for light pulses at the transmitter pin of disconnected D2B connector, RA05.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Go to step  8.

    NO:  INSTALL a new telematic harness between RA05 and RA04. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

  8. CHECK THE FIBRE OPTIC LEAD FROM THE NAVIGATION COMPUTER TO THE AMP 

    Disconnect optical connector RA05.

    Disconnect optical connector RA06.

    Connect the Optical Bus Tester to RA05.

    Check for light pulses at the transmitter pin of disconnected D2B connector, RA06.

    Are light pulses visible? 

    YES:  Recheck DTCs. No fault found in D2B system.

    NO:  INSTALL a new telematic harness between RA06 and RA05. For additional information, refer to the electrical guide. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
