Pinpoint Test F: CHECK THE KEYLOCK SOLENOID CIRCUIT
- CHECK THE KEYLOCK SOLENOID GROUND
Disconnect the keylock solenoid electrical connector, SC05.
Measure the resistance between SC05, pin 02 (B) and GROUND.
Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms?
YES: REPAIR the high resistance circuit. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. TEST the system for normal operation.
NO: Go to step 2.
- CHECK THE KEYLOCK SOLENOID OUTPUT FROM THE BPM
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Move the gear selector lever to the D position.
Measure the voltage between SC05, pin 01 (RW) and GROUND.
Is the voltage less than 10 volts?
YES: Go to step 3.
NO: INSTALL a new keylock solenoid. TEST the system for normal operation.
- CHECK THE KEYLOCK SOLENOID OUTPUT CIRCUIT FROM THE BPM FOR HIGH RESISTANCE
Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
Disconnect the BPM electrical connector, FC14.
Measure the resistance between SC05, pin 01 (RW) and FC14, pin 51 (RW).
Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms?
YES: REPAIR the high resistance circuit. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. TEST the system for normal operation.
NO: Contact Dealer technical support for advice on possible BPM failure.
