DTC P3499-86: Cylinder 2 Deactivation Performance - Signal invalid: Action
- Vehicle Conditions to enable DTC Logging Strategy
- Engine running for approximately 30 seconds when continuously variable valve lift solenoid oil temperature greater than 20°C
- Check oil for contamination, replace as required
- Inspect connectors for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the continuously variable valve lift solenoid circuit for
- Short circuit to ground
- Short circuit to power
- Open circuit
- High resistance
- Check and install a new continuously variable valve lift solenoid, only when diagnosed as failed
