Towing (With Ignition Key)

  1. On Grand Wagoneer and "J" series Pickups, turn ignition key to "OFF" position. Place transmission in Park (Neutral) and transfer case into Neutral. Turn locking hubs into "LOCK" position (if equipped).
  2. On Grand Wagoneer or Truck with Select-Trac, shift the transmission into Neutral with the vehicle moving slowly (2-3 MPH). Using a firm, positive movement, shift the transfer case selector lever into Neutral.
  3. On Cherokee, Comanche and Wagoneer, shift transmission in Neutral or Park and transfer case into Neutral. Do not exceed 30 MPH or a towing distance of 15 miles.
