Test 34B - Time Delay Will Not Turn Off

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure headlight switch is off. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Natural Body Control Module (BCM) connector. BCM is located behind center console. If headlights go off, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If headlights are still on, go to next step.
  2. Remove headlight low beam relay from relay block. If headlights are still on, go to step 6). If headlights go off, gain access to back of relay block. Go to next step.
  3. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of relay control circuit (Orange/White wire) at low beam relay connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace headlight low beam relay. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect left pod switch assembly. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If connector is okay, go to next step.
  5. Check resistance of relay control circuit (Orange/White wire) at low beam relay connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace left pod switch. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
  6. Remove fuses No. 17 and 18 from fuse block. If both headlights go off, repair short to voltage in Violet/White wire between headlight low beam relay and fuses. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If both headlights do not go off, go to next step.
  7. If right headlight does not go off, repair short to voltage in Red/Orange wire between high beam relay and right headlight. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If left headlight does not go off, repair short to voltage in Violet/White wire between high beam relay and left headlight. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
