Test 27A - Repairing Illuminated Entry Short To Ground

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Blue Body Control Module (BCM) connector. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of illuminated entry sense circuit (White wire) at Blue BCM connector terminal No. 7. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Remove front left door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch connector. Check resistance of sense circuit (White wire) at illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace left door illuminated entry switch. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Remove right door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch connector. Check resistance of sense circuit (White wire) at illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace right door illuminated entry switch. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in White wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
