Ignition Key-In Switch
- Remove the steering column shrouds. Unplug the ignition key-in switch connector from the ignition switch. See Fig 1 andFig 2 .
- Open the driver's door. Check for continuity between the key-in ignition switch sense circuit cavity of the key-in switch connector and a good ground. There should be continuity. If OK, go to next step. If not OK, repair the open circuit to the driver's door jamb switch as required.
- Insert the ignition key in the ignition lock cylinder. Check for continuity between the key-in switch sense circuit and the courtesy lamp switch output circuit terminals of the key-in switch. There should be continuity until the key is removed. If OK, go to next step. If not OK, replace the faulty ignition switch.
- Check for continuity between the courtesy lamp switch output circuit cavities of the key-in switch connector and the buzzer module connector. There should be continuity. If not OK, repair the open circuit to the buzzer module as required.
