Test 12B - Bus Short To Battery

  1. Turn ignition off. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Gray connector, terminals C11 (Yellow/Red wire) and C30 (Violet/Brown wire). PCM is located at right corner of firewall. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Yellow/Red wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between PCM Gray connector, terminals C11 (Yellow/Red wire) and C28 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Yellow/Red wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace PCM.
NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM  . After each repair, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
