Test 12E - Bus Short To Battery
- Turn ignition off. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance passenger door module 12-pin connector, terminals No. 3 (Gray/Black wire) and No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Gray/Black wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance passenger door module 12-pin connector, terminals No. 4 (Dark Green/White wire) and No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Dark Green/White wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance passenger door module 12-pin connector, terminals No. 3 (Gray/Black wire) and No. 9 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Gray/Black wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance passenger door module 12-pin connector, terminals No. 4 (Dark Green/White wire) and No. 9 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Dark Green/White wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance passenger door module 12-pin connector, terminals No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire) and No. 11 (Pink wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Pink wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance passenger door module 12-pin connector, terminals No. 9 (White/Black wire) and No. 11 (Pink wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Pink wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace passenger door module.
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM
. After each repair, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
NOTE:
Check all appropriate BCM circuits for short to CCD bus circuits. See wiring diagram. Repair as needed. Following testing are the most common examples.
