Test 13E - Bus Short To 5 Volts
- Turn ignition off. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal A19 (Violet/Brown wire) on Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector and terminal B3 (Red/Black wire) on BCM White connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Red/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminal A20 (White/Black wire) on BCM Black connector and terminal B3 (Red/Black wire) on BCM White connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Red/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminal A19 (Violet/Brown wire) on BCM Black connector and terminal B9 (Orange/Black wire) on BCM White connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Orange/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminal A20 (White/Black wire) on BCM Black connector and terminal B9 (Orange/Black wire) on BCM White connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Orange/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminals A14 (Light Blue wire) and A19 (Violet/Brown wire) on BCM Black connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Blue wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminals A14 (Light Blue wire) and A20 (White/Black wire) on BCM Black connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Blue wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
