Information Center Test 4B - Rear Lamp Failure Message

NOTE: Perform INFORMATION CENTER TEST 4A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM and DOOR LOCKS - POWER & KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM article. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.

Disconnect lamp outage module connectors. Lamp outage module is located behind inner quarter panel, behind spare tire. See Figure in INFORMATION CENTER TEST 4A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 (Black/Light Blue wire) on information center 20-pin connector. If voltage is 9 volts or less, replace lamp outage module. If voltage is greater than 9 volts, repair Black/Light Blue wire for short to voltage.
