NOTE: Perform INFORMATION CENTER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Refer to DOOR LOCKS - POWER & KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM article. After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Close all doors and clear other messages. Monitor information center display. If COOLANT SENSOR BAD is displayed, go to next step. If COOLANT SENSOR BAD is not displayed, system is currently functioning correctly.
  2. Disconnect coolant level switch. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on coolant level switch connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
  3. Connect jumper wire between coolant level switch connector terminals. Cycle ignition key off, and then on. If COOLANT LEVEL LOW is displayed, replace coolant level switch. If COOLANT LEVEL LOW is not displayed, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect information center 20-pin connector. Ensure jumper wire remains connected. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire) on information center connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace information center. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Pink/Black wire.
