VTSS Test 1B - Disarming VTSS

NOTE: Perform VTSS TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Refer to ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article. After each repair, perform TEST VER-2A  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Turn ignition off. Put key in left front door and turn to unlock position. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool under MONITORS menu, read VTSS status. If scan tool displays CURRENT MODE DISARMED, system is okay. Repeat VTSS TEST 1A  . If scan tool does not display CURRENT MODE DISARMED, go to next step.
  2. Backprobe a jumper wire between terminal No. 10 (Violet/Yellow wire) on Body Control Module (BCM) Black 14-pin connector and ground. BCM is located under left side of dash. Using scan tool, read VTSS status. If scan tool does not display CURRENT MODE DISARMED, replace BCM. If scan tool displays CURRENT MODE DISARMED, go to VTSS TEST 7A  .
