EVIC Internal Failure

When Monitored: When a SELF TEST command is received from the DRBIII(R), the EVIC performs a series of tests on the microprocessor, compass coil, and internal circuitry.

Set Condition: This code will be set during the self test if the EVIC detects a problem the microprocessor, compass coil, or internal circuitry.

Possible Causes are:

Perform the EVIC Self Test. Turn ignition off. Press and hold the C/T button and the RESET button. Turn ignition on. The EVIC Self Test can also be performed using the DRBIII(R). Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY, VIC, SYSTEM TEST, then SELF TEST. Observe the EVIC display following the Self Test. When the trouble code EVIC INTERNAL FAILURE is displayed, replace and program the Electronic Vehicle Information Center. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
