Airbag Indicator Not Operating Properly
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Possible Causes are:
- ACM DTC PRESENT
- INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
- Turn the ignition from the Lock to the Run position. This will start the Airbag bulb check. Did the Airbag indicator illuminate? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace the instrument cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs. Are there any Airbag or Instrument Cluster DTCs present? If yes, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table in RETRIEVING & CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, test is complete.
