Latch/Guide Plate: Removal

  1. Remove the liftgate insulator pad. (Refer to LIFTGATE INSULATOR PAD  )
  2. Remove the three bolts attaching the latch and guide plate to the liftgate. (Fig 1 )

  3. Remove the latch.
  4. Squeeze the cable retainer clips and remove the cable housing from the latch assembly. (Fig 2 )

  5. Disconnect the latch cable from the latch lever and remove the cable.
