3.0L Diesel Engine

The EGR valve allows a predetermined amount of hot exhaust gas to recirculate and blend with the incoming air mixture. The blended mixture reduces combustion temperatures and reduces emissions. EGR operation is monitored by the ECM through a back pressure sensor located next to the EGR valve.
