Catalyst, Diesel Oxidation: Installation: Installation

- Using a NEW
gasket, install the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) (2) onto the turbocharger.
- Install the DOC to turbocharger flange nuts (1) finger tight.

- Install the DOC isolator (2). Tighten the bolts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

- Tighten the DOC-to-turbocharger flange nuts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
- Install the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Refer to FILTER, DIESEL PARTICULATE, INSTALLATION .
- Check the exhaust system for proper clearance with the frame and underbody parts. A minimum clearance of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required.
- Partially lower the vehicle.

- Install the heat shield (3). Tighten the upper bolt (2) to 18 N.m (13 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the lower heat shield bolts (4) to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
- Install the oxygen sensor. Refer to
SENSOR, OXYGEN, INSTALLATION
.
- Install the exhaust temperature sensor. Refer to SENSOR, EXHAUST TEMPERATURE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the front right wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION

- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Start the vehicle and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair any exhaust leaks as necessary.
