Catalyst, Diesel Oxidation: Installation: Installation

1. Using a NEW  gasket, install the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) (2) onto the turbocharger.
2. Install the DOC to turbocharger flange nuts (1) finger tight.

3. Install the DOC isolator (2). Tighten the bolts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

4. Tighten the DOC-to-turbocharger flange nuts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Refer to FILTER, DIESEL PARTICULATE, INSTALLATION .
6. Check the exhaust system for proper clearance with the frame and underbody parts. A minimum clearance of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required.
7. Partially lower the vehicle.

8. Install the heat shield (3). Tighten the upper bolt (2) to 18 N.m (13 ft. lbs.).
9. Tighten the lower heat shield bolts (4) to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
10. Install the oxygen sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OXYGEN, INSTALLATION .
11. Install the exhaust temperature sensor. Refer to SENSOR, EXHAUST TEMPERATURE, INSTALLATION .
12. Install the front right wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
13. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
14. Start the vehicle and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair any exhaust leaks as necessary.
