Module, Fuel Pump: Removal

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Loosen fasteners (1, 2) and remove the cover (3).
- Remove bolts (1) and the fuel pump module cover (2).
- Disconnect the fuel pump module wire harness connector (4).
- Disconnect the vent line (2).
- Disconnect the supply line (1).
- Disconnect the return line (3).
- Position the SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench(special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench)tool into notches on outside edge of lock ring.
- Install 1/2 inch drive breaker bar onto the SAE Lock Ring Wrench (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench).
- Remove lock ring (8) by rotate breaker bar counter-clockwise.
- Remove module (9) from fuel tank and be careful not to bend float arm while removing.
