Torque Specifications

STEERING SYSTEM TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

DESCRIPTION SPECIFICATION COMMENT
Inner Tie Rod 120 N. m (89 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Intermediate Shaft Bearing Nuts 8 N. m (71 In. Lbs.)  -
Intermediate Shaft Boot Nuts 8 N. m (71 In. Lbs.)  -
Intermediate Shaft Pinch Bolt 45 N. m (33 Ft. Lbs.)  Do not reuse these fasteners. If removed, a new fastener must be installed and tightened to specifications.
Steering Column Nuts 22 N. m (16 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Steering Column Shaft Coupling Pinch Bolts 45 N. m (33 Ft. Lbs.)  Do not reuse these fasteners. If removed, a new fastener must be installed and tightened to specifications.
Steering Gear Bracket Bolts (Long) 100 N. m (74 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Steering Gear Bracket Bolts (Short) 70 N. m (52 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Steering Gear Front Bolts 125 N. m (92 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Steering Gear Rear Bolts 113 N. m (83 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Steering Wheel Nut 39 N. m (29 Ft. Lbs.)  -
Tie Rod End Nut 54 + 110° N. m (40 + 110° Ft. Lbs.)  Do not reuse these fasteners. If removed, a new fastener must be installed and tightened to specifications.
Tie Rod Jam Nut 100 N. m (74 Ft. Lbs.)  -
