Catalyst Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the transmission skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, TRANSMISSION .
  3. Disconnect the catalyst Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensor wire harness connector (1).
    CAUTION:

    The exhaust gas temperature sensor requires care when handling and installing. The exhaust gas temperature sensor is sensitive to knocks and bending. For this reason if the exhaust gas temperature sensor has been dropped, it must not be installed as damage to the sensor may have occurred. Do not remove from packaging until ready to install. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the exhaust gas temperature sensor.

  4. Remove the catalyst EGT sensor (4).
