Removal And Installation: Installation
- Pull the shifter cable and plate assembly through the opening in the floor pan.
- Install the shifter cable grommet and plate assembly nuts and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the exhaust heat shield.
- Attach the shifter cable (1) to the clip on top of the transmission.
- Attach the shifter cable (1) to the shifter cable bracket.
- Connect the shifter cable end (1) to the transmission manual lever.
- Install the shifter cable end (1) on the shifter ball stud and attach the shifter cable to the shifter cable bracket (2).
- Install the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or CONSOLE, FLOOR, END CAP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector first before connecting the negative battery cable.
- Verify shifter cable adjustment. Refer to CABLE, SHIFT, ADJUSTMENTS .
