Transmission Verification Test
Perform the following procedure to verify proper Transmission operation after repairs have been performed.
- SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT
Did the repair include replacement of the shifter, shift cable, Transmission Range Switch (TRS) or the transmission assembly?
Yes
- Adjust the shift cable in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT .
No
- Go To 2
- TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
Did the repair include disturbing or replacement of the Transmission Range Switch (TRS)?
Yes
- Adjust the TRS in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR (TRS) ADJUSTMENT .
No
- Go To 3
- VERIFICATION TEST
- Perform the following after completion of a diagnostic repair:
- Reconnect any disconnected components.
- Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- With the scan tool, erase all Transmission and Engine DTCs.
- Check the Transmission fluid level and adjust if necessary. Refer to the Service Information for the Fluid Fill procedure.
- If the repair include replacing of a solenoid(s), valve body, TCM or transmission assembly, perform the Drive Learn procedure in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to DRIVE LEARN .
- Road test the vehicle allowing the vehicle to shift through all gears.
- Check for DTCs during and after the road test.
Were there any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set during the road test?
Yes
- Refer to DTC INDEX (1 OF 2) and/or DTC INDEX (2 OF 2) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Repair is complete.
