Removal And Installation: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove both the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column. Refer to SHROUD, STEERING COLUMN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
- Using a suitable tool, press the ignition lock cylinder locking tab as shown in illustration in the figure to release the ignition lock cylinder from the ignition switch housing.
