Keyless Entry - Programming Remotes

TITLE: Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Programming

APPLIES TO: Sportage

SERVICE TIP:

The following are instructions for programming the Sportage Remote Keyless Entry System Transmitter.

Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed to each Kia Remote Keyless Entry System.

Instructions:
1. Open driver's door.
2. Turn ignition to on position






3. Locate the 2-wire black programming button branching off the RKE wire harness near the control module located behind the front left side of the center console.
4. Press and hold the programming button 10-15 seconds, horn will sound 3 times. Release button.
5. Press lock button on transmitter, horn will beep 1 time. Repeat this step for additional transmitters.
6. Turn ignition off, test transmitter for proper operation.
