Diagnostic Aids

Engine Control Module (ECM) continuously monitors input from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. ECM will set malfunction code if input is more or less than range of expected values for current engine operating conditions.

Check for following possible problems:

• Open or short between MAF sensor and ECM.
• Open or short between MAF sensor and Main relay.
• Faulty MAF sensor.
