A/C LUBRICANT GUIDELINES
This bulletin provides information relating to the proper amount of air conditioning lubricant FD46XG and ZXL 200PG, to be used during servicing and/or replacement of air conditioning system components.
WARNING:
- Air conditioning refrigerant or lubricant vapor can irritate your eyes, nose and throat.
- Be careful when connecting and disconnecting service equipment
- Do NOT breathe refrigerant or vapors
- This product does not contain any of the chemicals that are listed on the State of California's Proposition 65 list as cancer causing agent or potential reproductive toxins.
PROCEDURE
- Connect A/C recovery equipment, recover refrigerant and PAG oil as required.
- Measure amount of recovered PAG oil after recovery of refrigerant is complete.
- Clean and/or flush lines as required, replace defective component. Add new refrigerant oil as recommended by table below plus the amount of recovered PAG oil. DO NOT RE-USE PAG OIL, ALWAYS REPLACE WITH NEW OIL.
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system as required. Perform A/C system leak test after all repairs have been made and system is operating as designed.SERVICING INFORMATION
Components Being Serviced: Required Amount, PAG oil: Evacuate and Recharge A/C System Add 30 Grams (1 oz) Evaporator Add 60 Grams (2.1 oz) Condenser Add 50 Grams (1.7 oz) Receiver-Drier Add 40 Grams (1.4 oz) Compressor Remove 70 Grams (2.3 oz) A/C Pressure Hose Add 40 Grams (1.35 oz)
- NEVER re-use PAG oil, replace with fresh new oil always. PAG oil absorbs moisture and replacement is always recommended. Use ONLY recommended type and quantity.
- If the oil amount in the A/C system is lower than the specified amount, compressor durability will be decreased.
- If the oil amount in the A/C system is higher than the specified amount, A/C performance will be decreased.
- If all A/C components are replaced, there is no need to add additional refrigerant PAG oil. The compressors are shipped with full system capacity for the complete A/C system.
NOTE:
Kia Service Manuals may not list the PAG number shown in table below, however OEM part number ZXL 200PG is equivalent to PAG 100 and OEM part number FD46XG is equivalent to PAG 46. A/C lubricants should be sourced locally.
