Component Inspection

Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect Fuel Tank Unit connector.
Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 4 of the Fuel Temperature Sensor connector (To Component Side).
Specification:

At 0 °C (32°F), Resistance 4 ~ 7 kΩ

At 20 °C (68°F), Resistance 2 ~ 3 kΩ

At 40 °C (104°F), Resistance 0.9 ~ 1.3 kΩ

At 80 °C (176°F), Resistance 0.2 ~ 0.4 kΩ

Is the measured resistance of FTS within specifications ?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good PCM and check for proper operation.
  If the problem is corrected, replace PCM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known - good PCM and check for proper operation.
  If the problem is corrected, replace FTS and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
