Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • CAN message transfer incorrect
  • Open or short in CAN line
  • Contact resistance in connectors
  • Faulty PCM
Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage > 10V
  • Engine speed > 32 rpm + 0.5 sec. time delay
Threshold Value
  • CAN message is incorrect
Diagnostic Time
  • 20 wrong messages
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • No Message coming from TCU
Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage > 10V
  • Engine speed > 32 rpm + 0.5 sec. time delay
Threshold Value
  • Time exceeded with no Message = 1 sec.
Diagnostic Time
  • 1 sec.
Mil On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
