P0030: Ho2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank1/Sensor1): DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION CHART

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy Case 1)
  • Controller Malfunction - Gain/Offset
  • Related fuse blown or missing
  • Heater control circuit open or short
  • Power supply circuit open or short
  • Contact resistance in connectors
  • Faulty HO2S
Case 2)
  • Check operative readiness
Case 3)
  • Evaluate O2 sensor Element Temperature via measuring Element Resistance
Enable Conditions Case 1)
  • No failure on front HO2S
Case 2)
  • 11 ≤ Battery voltage ≤ 16V
  • Dew point exceeded
Case 3)
  • Heater power control active since a certain time (O2 Sensor element temperature check) > 20 sec.
  • Controlled Heating (controller malfunction check and element resistance check)
Threshold Value Case 1)
  • Check if measured reference offset voltages and circuit gain lie within min./max. limits > thd.
Case 2)
  • Operative readiness not reached after certain time with active heating > 30-100 sec.
Case 3)
  • 690°C (1, 274°F) < Front HO2S element temperature < 875°C (1, 607°F), 30 times during 50 monitoring cycle
Diagnostic Time Case 1)
  • 24 sec.
Case 2)
  • 30-100 sec.
Case 3)
  • 50 sec.
Fail-Safe
  • EVAP emission control function is controlled in minimum operation mode
Mil On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
