SERVICE INFORMATION

This article explains some of the changes that can be expected when upgrading from navigation map software Version 3.07.06 to new navigation map software, Version 5.09.01 (See TSB GEN 051 Rev. 2). The software will provide significant changes to the look and menu functionality of the map interface; including changes to the map colors (background, roads, and traffic information), interfaces, screens, symbols, and route arrow. In addition, the map database contains more roads and POIs than the previous version.

New Features:

The map guidance screen may have additional features (depending on the vehicle model and head unit type) as follows:

The quick menu is accessed by pressing the yellow star and allows you to quickly change/cancel a route

Map Defaults for Generation 1.5 & 2.0

Generation 1.5  (Forte, Sedona, pre-2014MY Sorento): Default routing is "Recommended"

Generation 2.0  (Optima, Optima Hybrid, Sportage, Soul, Rio) Default routing is "Recommended". "Use Ferries" defaults to "ON".

G09968295

"Recommended"  tends to route based on distance and traffic conditions (customer may not be routed on the shortest distance on smaller, slower speed limit streets - may route more on major thoroughfares)

"Shortest"  tends to route based on the shortest distance from the start point to the destination, reducing the distance travelled, however, not necessarily the time travelled when compared to "Recommended".

"Minimize Freeway"  routes with minimal use of highways.

"Minimize Toll Road"  routes with minimal use of toll roads.

"Use Ferries"  routes to include the use of ferries.
