Short Drop

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Kia Forte5, 2015 Kia Forte Koup, and 2015 Kia Forte. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Description

YD vehicle model does not feature door glass frame. Hence, it features door glass short drop to prevent door glass from being stuck on roof side when opening and closing the door and to reduce wind noise. When the door is open, it drops by approximately 10 mm (0.4 inch;short drop), otherwise, it rises by approximately 10 mm(0.4 inch) up to the roof (upper stop position).

Function

The short drop (SD) functionality is linked to the door ajar signal. In case of door opened, the door ajar signal (low level) will be received by the ECU. As a result the upper stop position will be changed from upper mechanical block position to the short drop position (EEPROM parameter). Short drop commandos will be executed independent of multi function line state.
