Repair Procedures: Removal
- Release the residual pressure in fuel line (Refer to the Fuel Delivery System - Repair Procedures - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ").
- Remove the rear seat cushion (Refer to REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ).
- Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).
- Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A), fuel tank pressure sensor connector (B), fuel feed tube quick connector (C) and vapor tube quick connector (D).
- Remove the rear - LH wheel & tire.
- Lift the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a jack.
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A).
- Disconnect the vapor tube quick-connector (A).
- Remove the under cover (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.
- Remove the brake parking cable after loosening the mounting bolts (A).
- Remove the center muffler assembly.

- Support the fuel tank with a jack (A).
- Remove the fuel tank band mounting nuts (B).
Fuel Tank Band Mounting Nut:
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb.ft)
- Remove the fuel tank (A).
NOTE: When removing the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be tilted because of interfering with coupling.
