Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to "Engine Electrical System" - BATTERY ")

  3. Remove the air cleaner.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Remove the battery tray.

    (Refer to "Engine Electrical System" - BATTERY ")

  5. Disconnect the ECM Connector (A).
  6. Remove ECM bracket assembly (B) after loosening the mounting bolts and nut.

    ECM bracket mounting bolt/nut: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  7. Remove the ECM after loosening the mounting nuts (A).

    ECM mounting nut: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
