Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
  3. Remove the driver airbag module.

    (Refer to Restraint - " DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRINGS  ") 

  4. Disconnect the clock spring connector.

  5. Loosen the bolt and then remove the steering wheel.

    Tightening torque: 

    44.1 - 49.0 N.m (4.5 - 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 36.2 lb.ft)

CAUTION:
  • When removing the steering wheel, do not impact it by hammering as it may damage the steering column.
  • Do not reuse the bolt.
