Repair Procedures: Removal

NOTE:
If replacement of the bracket of BSD unit is required, it is recommended to surely replace the defective part only with a new one, not the whole BSD unit.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.CAUTION: Be careful when removing the blind spot detection unit. The bracket may break off from the bumper.
- Remove the rear bumper.
(3 Body - "REAR BUMPER COVER ")
- Disconnect the BSD connector (A) from the BSD unit.
- Remove the BSD assembly (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.
Tightening torque : 8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the bracket when removing the BSD unit.Information
If the bracket is physically deformed or damaged, replace the extension wire or bracket.
