Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  3. Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the wiring protector around the surge tank.

  4. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A).

  5. Disconnect the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (A).

  6. Separate the electric throttle control (ETC) module.

    (Refer to Engine control/Fuel System - "ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL) SYSTEM ")

  7. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).

  8. Remove the surge tank stay (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    27.5 - 31.4N.m (2.8 - 3.2kgf.m, 20.3 - 23.1lb.ft)

  9. Remove the surge tank (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8N.m (1.0-1.2kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7lb.ft)

  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
