Ignition System Inspection
- Ignition Coil Inspection
- Refer to
appropriate service information and visually and/or physically inspect for the following conditions:
- Damage, cracks, carbon and flashover.
- Poor connection or damaged harness.
Inspection Condition (+) Probe (-) Probe Reference Connector Terminal Connector Terminal - Engine "Running".
Ignition Coils harness connector 2 (power) Chassis ground - Fig.1 Ignition Coils harness connector 1 (control) Chassis ground - Good
- Go to "Spark Plug Inspection" procedure.
No Good
- Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
- Refer to
appropriate service information and visually and/or physically inspect for the following conditions:
- Spark Plug Inspection
- Refer to
appropriate service information and visually and/or physically inspect following conditions:
- Damaged insulation, worn electrodes, contaminated with oil or fuel, loose terminals and cracks.
- Measure the electrode gap.
Specification: Approx. 0.8 to 0.9 mm (0.0354 - 0.0433 in.)
- Measure the insulation resistance with an multimeter.
Specification: Approx. 10MΩ or more
- Has any problems been found?
Good
- Go to "FUEL SYSTEM INSPECTION " procedure.
No Good
- Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.

appropriate service information and visually and/or physically inspect following conditions:
