Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
    NOTE: After disconnecting the cables, wait at least 30 seconds.
  2. Remove the front seat back cover.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT SEAT BACK COVER ")

    Information 

    Improper mounting of the front seat back cover, so interfering with the normal deployment of side airbags and front seat backrest ensure that the cover is well seated.

  3. Remove the side airbag wiring after loosening the side airbag wiring clips (A).

  4. Remove the side airbag (A) after loosening the nuts.

    Tightening torque: 

    5.8 - 7.8 N.m (0.6 - 0.8 kgf.m, 4.3 - 5.7 lb.ft, 52.0 - 69.4 lb.in)
