Repair Procedures: Removal
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the rear pillar trim.
(Refer to Body - "REAR PILLAR TRIM ")
- Disconnect the PTG drive unit connector (A).
- Remove the PTG drive unit (A) after lifting the socket clips (B) up slightly.CAUTION:
- Work in a group of two or more when removing and installing the PTG drive unit.
- Take care not to close the tail gate while the PTG drive unit is being removed.
- Do not reuse the PTG drive unit drive if it is dropped on the ground. Discard any dropped PTG drive units.
- When carefully removing the socket clip, take extra care not to lose the socket clip as it may pop out.
- When carefully removing the socket clip, take care not to scratch the clip surface as scratches may cause corrosions in the future.
- Remove the PTG drive unit (A) after loosening the bolts.
Tightening torque:
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.10 kgf.m, 5.08 - 7.96 lb.ft)
