Repair Procedures: Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the rear pillar trim.
(Refer to Body - "REAR PILLAR TRIM ")
Disconnect the PTG drive unit connector (A).

Remove the PTG drive unit (A) after lifting the socket clips (B) up slightly.

CAUTION:
- Work in a group of two or more when removing and installing the PTG drive unit.
- Take care not to close the tail gate while the PTG drive unit is being removed.
- Do not reuse the PTG drive unit drive if it is dropped on the ground. Discard any dropped PTG drive units.
- When carefully removing the socket clip, take extra care not to lose the socket clip as it may pop out.
- When carefully removing the socket clip, take care not to scratch the clip surface as scratches may cause corrosions in the future.
Remove the PTG drive unit (A) after loosening the bolts.
Tightening torque:

6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.10 kgf.m, 5.08 - 7.96 lb.ft)
