Removal And Installation

- Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly and air intake hose. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the battery.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (A).
- Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor (B).
Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor:
29.4 - 39.2 Nm (3.0 - 4.0 kgf.m, 21.7 - 28.9 lb.ft)
CAUTION: Note that engine coolant may be flowed out from the water temperature control assembly when removing the sensor. - Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE:
- Install the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) to the specified torque.
- If the ECTS is dropped, it may cause internal damage. (Do not reuse)
- Install the ECTS by pushing it into the mounting hole when installing it. At this time do not impact the sensor.
- Apply the engine coolant to the O-ring.
- Fill with engine coolant.
