Replacement - 2WD: Replacement
- Remove the front hub assembly.
(Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - " FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY ")
- Mark the sensor cap connector mounting part and hub bearing mounting position (A).NOTE: If the mounting direction of the sensor cap is different from the initial installation, the connector may not be able to be connected at the time of installation, so be sure to record the direction of the connection before removal.
- Remove the wheel sensor cap using SST.
- Install SST (0K583 - R0400) on the wheel sensor cap, and then rotate the bolts (A) to fix.
- Remove the wheel sensor cap (B) by rotating upper bolts (A) of SST (0K583 - R0400).
- Install SST (0K583 - R0400) on the wheel sensor cap, and then rotate the bolts (A) to fix.
- Check the encoder (A) for deformation or damage.NOTE:
- After removing the sensor cap, check for damage to the encoder, and replace the hub bearing if the deformation is confirmed.
- If the encoder is deformed, the warning lamp may illuminates due to a sensor error.
- Install the new sensor cap so that the connector position (A) matches the hub bearing mounting position (B).NOTE:
- If the mounting direction of the sensor cap is different from the initial installation, the connector may not be able to be connected at the time of installation, so be sure to record the direction of the connection before removal.
- Wipe off foreign substances and other contaminants inside the hub assembly before installing the sensor cap.
- Mount the SST (09231-93100, 09527 - AL500) and hit the top with a hammer to install the sensor cap.
- Install the front hub assembly.
