Removal & Installation: Installation

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit. Refer To HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION
  • When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure. Refer To High Voltage Shut-Off Procedures
  1. Set the clock spring in a neutral position before installation.
    • When the vehicle comes out of the factory, the clock spring is in a neutral state.
    • If the white cable is visible through the 3 o'clock neutral check point of the clock spring, the clock spring is in the neutral state.
    • If the white cable is not visible when checking through the 3 o'clock neutral check point of the clock spring, adjust the setting to neutral manually.
    NOTE:

    If the clock spring does not align with the neutral position, the airbag warning light may illuminate, and there could be functional issues with the horn, audio, hands-free, auto cruise, heated steering, and other features that operate from the steering wheel. Additionally, noise may occur during steering wheel rotation.

  2. Clock spring manual neutral setting procedure.
    1. Press the auto lock (B) and turn the clock spring (A) clockwise until it stops.

    2. Press the auto lock (B) and turn the clock spring (A) counterclockwise 3 times.

    3. Check the neutral check point.

      Information 

      If the cable is visible through the neutral check point the clock spring is in the neutral state.

  3. Install the clock spring.
  4. Install the steering column shroud lower panel.

    (Refer to Body - " STEERING COLUMN SHROUD PANEL  ") 

  5. Install the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - " STEERING WHEEL  ") 

  6. Install the driver airbag.
    NOTE:
    • Make sure the airbag wire is not stuck in the internal structure of the wheel when installing the driver's airbag.
    • Press the airbag wire towards the center of the driver's airbag when installing it.
  7. Check the airbag system and horn operate normally.
    NOTE:

    The airbag warning light should illuminate for 3 - 6 seconds and goes off when the IG is ON.
