Charging System

Symptom Suspected Cause Correction
Charging warning indicator does not light with START/STOP Button ON and hybrid system OFF. Broken fuse Replace fuse
Defective connection of wiring connector Inspect wiring connection
Low voltage DC/DC Converter (LDC) fault Replace Hybrid Power Control Unit (HPCU)
Charging warning indicator does not go out with hybrid system ON. (Battery requires frequent recharging) Defective connection, corroded or worn battery cable Inspect connection of battery cable and repair or replace cable
LDC fault Replace HPCU
Ignition wiring fault Repair or replace the wiring
Overcharge LDC fault Replace HPCU
Voltage sensing wiring fault Replace wiring
Discharged battery Bad wiring connection and short circuit Inspect connection of wiring and repair or replace wiring
LDC fault Replace HPCU
Defective ground Inspect or repair ground
Defective battery Replace battery
Excessive parasitic current Measure the dark current [standard value: 0.05 A (50 mA) or less] after about 10 minutes with the hybrid system turned OFF and the trunk interior lamp removed.
