Cruise Control Systems: Description

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

Cruise control is a electro-mechanical system which includes the cruise control Electronic Control Unit (ECU), engagement (on/off) switch, SET/ACCEL switch, RESUME/DECEL switch, brake pedal switch, clutch pedal switch (M/T), vehicle speed sensor, body electrical control module, vacuum pump, actuator, neutral lock-out relay (A/T), and engine speed trip relay.
