Road Test

CAUTION: DO NOT activate cruise control system when vehicle is in low gear or Reverse, or system may be damaged.
  1. Start engine. Press cruise control on/off switch. Accelerate to 30 MPH (50 KM/H), and press SET/ACCEL switch. Immediately release switch and remove foot from accelerator pedal. Vehicle should maintain speed at which switch was operated.
  2. Press and hold SET/ACCEL switch. Vehicle should accelerate smoothly until switch is released. When switch is released, vehicle should maintain new set speed.
  3. Momentarily press SET/ACCEL switch. Vehicle speed should increase 1.0 MPH (1.6 KM/H) each time switch is tapped.
  4. Press RESUME/DECEL switch. Cruise control should disengage. Allow vehicle to slow to about 35 MPH (55 KM/H), then momentarily press RESUME/DECEL switch and remove foot from accelerator. Vehicle should smoothly accelerate to previously set speed. Using accelerator, increase vehicle speed. Release accelerator. Vehicle should return to previously set speed.
  5. Press brake pedal. Cruise control should disengage. Press RESUME/DECEL switch. Vehicle should return to previously set speed.
  6. Press RESUME/DECEL switch, and let speed drop to less than 26 MPH (42 KM/H). Press RESUME/DECEL switch. Cruise control system should remain disengaged.
  7. With vehicle speed at about 28 MPH (45 KM/H), press SET/ACCEL switch. Cruise control system should remain disengaged. Increase vehicle speed to greater than 28 MPH (45 KM/H), and press RESUME/DECEL switch. Cruise control should engage, and vehicle speed should increase to previously set speed.
  8. On A/T models, put gearshift in Neutral. Cruise control system should disengage.
  9. On M/T models, press clutch pedal. Cruise control system should disengage. Bring vehicle speed to 50 MPH (80 KM/H). Press clutch pedal, put gearshift lever in Neutral, and release clutch pedal. Press RESUME/DECEL switch. Engine speed should increase to 5000 RPM. Cruise control system should disengage and return engine speed to idle.
  10. Shift to forward gear. Press RESUME/DECEL switch. Vehicle speed should increase to previously set speed. Press cruise control on/off switch. Cruise control system should disengage and erase previously set speed from memory.
