Volumetric (Interior) Protection

Volumetric protection is provided by an ultrasonic sensor and an ultrasonic detector. Volumetric protection can only be activated using the transmitter. When vehicle is superlocked using door key and all windows are closed, volumetric mode is activated by pressing lock button on transmitter one time. After a 5-second settling period, ultrasonic system will detect movement in passenger compartment.

Volumetric sensor will enter a self-check mode each time the ignition switch is turned off. The self-check mode will remain active for 60 seconds or until the driver's door is opened and closed, or the vehicle is locked with a transmitter or key.

If the volumetric sensor fails the self-check 5 times consecutively, only the perimetric protection will be active (doors, hood and tailgate). If a transmitter superlock is attempted, the vehicle instrument panel message center will display ALARM FAULT and indicate a mislock.
